Hi, and welcome to the codeguys site on rpc1.org! This site is designed to be a resource for the patching of firmwares for LiteOn and Samsung optical disc drives. Please use the menu on the left to navigate this site.
C0deKing, I've decided to retire from the patching scene. It's been a blast over the last 6 years, but it's now time for me to move on. I hope you have enjoyed all of the patches and tools over the years. All the best...
Code65536 (one of the founders of this site), has retired from the optical drive scene. I'd like to thank him for the amazing work he did and wish him all the best for the future. Also Kanalratte is no longer around. I'd like to thank him for all of the amazing work he did on the Samsung firmware.
LiteOn 20A3 series: Best drive ever from LiteOn, which has very good burn quality and very good overspeed burning capabilities (thanks Wind).
What's Not Hot
Samsung: For falsely reporting the Samsung Patch Utility as a trojan/virus. If you're thinking about getting their drive, don't! If you already have one, then enjoy the Samsung Patch Utility, until they falsely report it again.
SMC Routers: WPA doesn't work with Vista and it took two weeks for their support to admit that it was a problem with the router and that there was no fix available.
VW Touaregs: Can use up to 1 litre of oil every 1000km and VW will do nothing about it until they use more than this. This is really good for the enviroment. Also there are lots of other problems with the vehicle, known by VW, but they won't fix anything unless you complain about it (ie. Battery charging problems, A/C valve problems, Radio overheating problem (which warps CDs), Juddering wipers problem...). I bet it will all come out once the vehicle is out of warranty.
Mitsubishi A/C units: They say they are smaller and quieter than other A/C units, but this is only possible because they don't put out anything like their rated capacity, especially when cooling.
